War eigentlich kein Problem da mein Netzwerk eh nur aus wenigen PCs besteht und nicht sehr komplex ist, aber Update wäre schone ne feine sache gewesen.


Kann es sein, das Du vorher eine BETA vom WSUS installiert hattest? Ich hab meinen WSUS 2.0 SP1 ganz einfach nur upgedatet.

Habe gerade versucht meinen WSUS 2.0 auf den 3.0 upzugraden, leider ohne Erfolg. Das Setup erkennt das ein WSUS existiert und er findet auch den DB-Server und kann sich connecten.

Das Setup läuft dann durch und am Schluß erhalte ich eine Meldung das eben jenes Upgrade nicht durchgelaufen ist und man kann in ein Logfile sehen um den Error zu finden.

Hab das Problem gelöst!

Da ich den WSUS seinerzeit als DesktopEngine installiert habe und ihn später auf einen 2005er SQL SP1 umgestellt war ein Reg-Key falsch.

Somit folgenden Key auf "0" setzen:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Update Service\Server\Setup\ WmsdeInstalled

Danach läuft das Setup durch und der WSUS3.0 schnurrt wie ein Kätzchen.

Hallo Zusammen,

habe folgendes Problem.
Seit ca. zwei Jahren läuft WSUS 2 auf einem Windows 2000 Server (Domaincontroller). WSUS 3 läuft darauf aber nicht mehr. Ich benötige also Windows 2003. Davon habe ich zwei Memberserver.

Wie bekomme ich nun die Daten von WSUS 2 auf einem w2k Server auf den w2003 Server - Updaten auf Windows 2003 Server kann und will ich den alten aber nicht.

Hat jemand so ein Problem schon gelöst?

Ja, wurde auch schon hier im Forum als Anleitung gepostet.

Best Praxis:
Installiere auf dem W2K3-Server den WSUS 2.0 SP1, mach die erste Synchronisierung und sonst nichts mehr.
Auf dem alten WSUS jetzt das Content-Verzeichnis und die DB gem. nachf. Anleitung sichern und auf dem neuen WSUS wieder herstellen:
Managing WSUS from the Command Line:
(Du musst Dich Einloggen oder Registrieren um Multimediadateien oder Links zu sehen).
Export + Import für das Contentverzeichnis.

Backing Up Windows Server Update Services:
(Du musst Dich Einloggen oder Registrieren um Multimediadateien oder Links zu sehen).

Wenn alles geklappt hat, kannst Du in der Policy den Namen des WSUS-Server abändern und verteilen. Die Clients sollten sich jetzt am neuen WSUS anmelden. Auch alles OK? Dann kannst Du auch den WSUS 3.0 upgraden.
